We really like these ‘Dancing Vases’ by young Dutch designer Robin van Hontem.

The series was created by van Hontem as his graduation project whilst studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Maastricht.

Based on the shape and movement of a spinning top, they appear as if they are frozen in their movement, and while dancing around, the 'Dancing Vases' need each other to keep standing.

Van Hontem may be at the beginning of his career but is already attracting attention - scooping a 2010 Noordelijke Ontwerpprijs (Northern Design Award) nomination for a chair he recently created.
