ADAPTATIONS BY HENRY WILSON

This afternoon, we've been poring over the portfolio of young Australian designer and Design Academy Eindhoven graduate Henry Wilson.

For Henry, design is about more than simply filling the world with endless objects. Instead, his work is a process of design thinking that involves careful examination of his environment and the creation of sensitive, thought-provoking responses to it.

It's his series of subtle interventions to classic designs which we really like; from the original creation of a little trivet to help you use your Le Crueset pots more easily, to beautiful leather slipcovers to make those iconic Tolix chairs less industrial looking and more comfy.

Wilson has also begun to build up a nice selection of wholly new design pieces too, but it's his brand of clever additions and tweaks - like placing a ceramic shade on an old-school anglepoise lamp and the simple transformation of an enamel coffee pot into a kettle - that we've fallen for.
