This 'Spun' floor lamp is by new Sydney-based design studio Evie Group.

Studio founders Alex Gilmour and Dominic Chong were inspired by the forms of a traditional wooden spinning top, and have created an occasional lamp that can be positioned in an upward or downward manner, changing the play of the light.

We like the wiring detail too, which further pays homage to the way a top is wound and then spun.

'Spun' comes with a frosted glass shade and you can choose from either an aluminium (incidentally also spun) or brass top.
