A graduate of Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, designer Nir Meiri's over-arching design philosophy is based on viewing everyday objects with an out of the ordinary approach; and we think this latest project does just that.

'Desert Storm' is a beautifully delicate concept for lighting where the shades attached to the iron frame are constructed out of desert sand.

The shape of the sand-molded lamp shades brings to mind primitive desert structures, while the fixture’s overall figure resembles that of plants that blossom in the Mediterranean seashore.

"I love to use unusual material and unexpected combinations together with a fresh, original creative attitude. The end result is harmonic, practical and simple and always special." says Meiri.
