On display at the Design Academy Eindhoven Graduation Galleries during Dutch Design Week, this is one of Sabine Marcelis' final projects, called 'House Wine' which celebrates the process of home wine-making.
The project apparently began back in New Zealand, where it is not so uncommon to brew your own wine at home.
"While making a batch of apple wine and grape wine, I carefully observed and recorded all the steps needed to get from fruit to bottled wine." says Sabine.
"From this process I quickly discovered some key problems with the current available techniques which make the winemaking process messy and unappealing. This was my biggest inspiration and motivation for creating improved functionality and ease of use coupled with aesthetic value."
The result is this very attractive looking all-in-one installation which requires nurturing and care, exists as a calming presence in the home; and brilliantly, rewards you with wine.

Also, our congratulations go out to Sabine since the home brew kit has been nominated for both the Renee Smeets prize and the Keep An Eye grant.
We'll raise our glasses to that; we think this is a thoughful, useful and beautiful concept.
