'Icones' is a series of photographs taken by ECAL student Laetitia Florin in collaboration with Dimitri Bähler.

These final framed images were realized for the decoration and furnishing of a new hotel in Lausanne, called 'Lhotel' which is affiliated with the Lausanne Palace.

The brief was actually to reuse or modify old pieces of furniture from the Palace which had been amassed in big storerooms, but Laetitia and Dimitri decided to do something a little different.

"The purpose was to keep the memory and the link with the long-established classical hotel." says Laetitia, continuing:

"Instead of using these old elements to make new objects, we decided to magnify the beauty of all the spare parts."

And so, the forgotten scraps became iconic in the form of 26 pictures in total, one in each room.

Sometimes, its not the physicality of things in the room, it's the way you look at things...
